When you register your domain name you must ensure that it is as relevant as possible to your targeted keywords and the content of your website. The more relevant it is to your content, the higher you will be ranked within the search engines which means more traffic.
I know that to find the correct domain today can be pretty tough as there are so many unavailable due to been already registered. If your domain is unavailable there maybe a link on the site to offer a cash bid for the domain and it might be worth taking a look.
When you think about the domain you want to register you must do a little research as to what keyword you want to target within your market and to try to register a domain that would include that keyword. This is a very important factor and can help you no end with search engine optimisation.
Choosing the main keyword to target would be a waste of time unless you are an seo specialist with thousands of dollars to burn. I prefer to choose two, three or four word keywords depending on the popularity as this would be easier to rank for.
Using a free keyword research tool available on the web can be a very valuable tool when searching for the right keywords to target as well as choosing a domain. This is helpful as you can be fully aware of how many people search the keywords and will let you know if its worth marketing.
There can be easier ways to find the right keyword domains. All you need to do is add your initials and a hyphen before the keyword. If thats not available the try numbers and a hyphen. You will find one eventaully that includes your chosen keyword.
By registering a domain like this you are making sure that the keyword you wish to target is included within your domain and will put you ahead of your smaller competition alot faster and also gets you ranked higher within the search engines.
Many webmasters will already know this but if your a newbie then you must be aware that its a well known fact that your rankings within the search engines will be greatly affected if your websites content is not relevant to your domain name.

Did you know that the value of short domain names is very valuable. These domain names can be resold for so much more than the registration price. If you have a very short rare domain name (3 letters for example) you can sell them for even up to the hundreds. The value depends on if the domain name sounds like a real word or is memorable or not. All letter domain names are more valuable than the domain names with numbers and letters unless the numbers and letters are very brandable then those domain names can be sold a lot. People look for these domains with high budgets because they are catchy. If you know of any available short domain, domain registration names for them so you can invest in some good domains that are worth more than their registration fee, it is well worth the investment on these domains as you will be making money off them.
