A Succinct List Of Some Enjoyable Car Films

American’s fancy their cars, and they adore their films too. There have been some classic cars in films in the past and while we can only list a few and your beloved may not be listed, here are a few notable “car” films.

A unforgettable from the year 1968- Bullitt. Featuring Steve McQueen and Jacqueline Bisset, directed by Peter Yates. This film features two cool cars, a 390 GT Mustang and a Dodge Charger 440 Magnum and one of the greatest car chases in movie history in a law enforcement/action adventure movie.

From 1974 – Gone in 60 Seconds – Featuring a yellow 1973 Ford Mustang named Eleanor and an extra of the greatest car chases in a 40-minute finale through Los Angeles and a crash course to teach the regular guy the basics of the car-stealing enterprise. And do not forget the remake.

From the millennial year of 2000- Gone in 60 Seconds. Featuring an famous group of actors and crew including Nicolas Cage, Angelina Jolie. Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. But this movie is not about the genius of the stars but only about the flash of the cars. Fast cars, stolen cars, wrecked cars. Only about the cars.

From 1981 and 1984 consecutively. The Cannonball Run and The Cannonball Run 2. Prohibited street racing across country, featuring an eccentric cast list of outrageous characters who will do anything to win.

From 1983 – Christine- An application in horror starring a hip but possessed 1957 Plymouth Fury. The account is from Stephen King, can’t go amiss there.

And an all-time favorite of many, from 1973 – American Graffiti – A bona fide timeless motion picture about the summer of 1962. Directed by George Lucas and starring Ron Howard, Richard Dreyfuss, Harrison Ford, Cindy Williams and Mackenzie Phillips ahead of their considerable careers.

And there you have a condensed list of some of the greatest “car” films. Of course, there is more because we will always have a love affair with our cars.
